Sic Bo Rules and Strategy

Sic Bo is an old Chinese game played with three dice. Sic Bo is played on a special Sic Bo table where you have over 50 combinations to bet on.
Players place their bets on the table trying to predict the outcome for the three dice. Multiple bets are accepted, the payoff is indicated with the bets on the game board.

There are eight different basic bets in Sic Bo with lots of variations.

The Single Bet
The bottom row of the Sic Bo table has six betting areas. These are called single number bets. If one dice lands on the number you chose you are paid out 1:1. If two of the dice land on the number you chose, you will win 2:1. And if three numbers come up you get paid out at 3:1. The house edge for this bet is 8%.
Two Number Combinations
The two dice Sic Bo bet, which is situated in the centre on the bottom of the board, allows you to predict that any 2 of the dice will land on a 2 number combination that you predicted. The bet is paid 6:1 with a house edge of 17%.
Three dice total
In Sic Bo a three number total wager consists of combining the total shown on the resulting dice roll. Different totals have different odds. A result of 3 or 18 is always a loss. House edge 9.7%-18%.
Small or Big Wager
You can bet on whether the combined total of the dice roll in Sic Bo will be either between 4-10 or 11-17. This wager pays out at 1-1 odds. All small or big wagers lose if the result of the dice is three of a kind. House edge 2.8%
Three of a kind and Pair Bets
Three of a kind is the highest paying bet in Sic Bo. If you bet on a specific three of a kind and hit you will be paid 150:1 odds. You can also wager on all six possible Three of a kind at once, which pays 25:1. Or you can bet on a pair, which are obviously two dices of the same number. Pair bets pays 11:1. House edge 30%.

Sic Bo Strategy
If you are going to play Sic Bo you should only play the Small or Big Wager. This bet has a reasonable house edge at 2.8%, which is about the same as European Roulette. All other Sic Bo bets have very high house edge and should be avoided.
