How to Play Baccarat

Baccarat is really easy to learn. Baccarat also has a very low house edge and is therefore a good casino game for high stakes gambling.

Baccarat is probably best known from the James Bond movies. Baccarat is one of the oldest casino games and can be found in most online casinos. The game is easy to play, perfect strategy is very easy to learn and the house edge is low, 1.06%. This makes Baccarat a much better game for high stakes gambling than roulette and Craps.
The Baccarat you play online is the Punto Banco Variation.
The rules can perhaps sound a little complicated but the baccarat rules for card drawing are set by the rules of the game so you don’t even have to learn them.

Each player can receive a maximum of three cards and unlike blackjack you cant go bust in baccarat.
Tens and picture cards count as zero, aces count as one and 2 through 9 as their face value. If the hand value totals ten points or more subtract ten, and the remainder is the Baccarat point value of the hand. For example: 6+8=14=4 and 7+Q=7
The player’s choice is simple: You bet on the Banker. You bet on the Player. Or you bet on a tie. The banker and the player are then each dealt two cards. The baccarat rules for card drawing are set by the rules of the game.

If one or booth of the player and the banker has a total of an 8 or a 9 they both stand.
If the player's point value is 5 or less, then the player takes one more card, otherwise the player stands.
If the player stands, then the banker hits on a total of 5 or less.

The winner is the hand closest to 9. If the player's and the banker's hands have equal point value, its a tie and bets on the Banker and the Player is returned.

If you bet successfully on the player you are paid 1 to 1 on your bet.
If you bet successfully on the banker you are paid 1 to 1 minus 5% bank commission.
If you bet successfully on a tie you are paid 9 to 1.

The house edge on the Banker bet is 1.06%. The house edge on the Player is 1.2% and on the tie, 4.8%.
The best strategy is of course to always bet on the Banker, this gives you the lowest house edge and the best chance to win. Remember that Baccarat is a game of chance - not a game of skill. Trying to beat the casino with any betting system will fail in the long run, but because of the lower house edge you have a much better chance of success playing Baccarat then if you are playing Roulette.

Because of the low house edge very few online casinos will let you clear a casino bonus playing Baccarat. One of the few is Bodog Casino. You can try Baccarat for free at Bodog Casino, but if you want to gamble with real money, Bodog Casino offers all players 10%, instant unlimited bonus on all deposits. You can clear the bonus playing Baccarat but before withdrawing it you have to wager the deposit plus the bonus 15 times.

Go to Bodog Casino and play for free or for real money
